Services for Lela (Winters) Warren,
87, of Henderson will be held at 2
p.m. Tuesday at the Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Hugh L.
Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pirtle Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 6pm to 8pm today at the funeral home. Mrs. Warren
died at 9:00 a.m. today in Henderson Memorial Hospital after a lengthy
illness. She was born July 30, 1900 in Madisonville and lived most of her
life in Henderson. She was a retired photographer and owned and operated
Warren Photography with E.S. Warren for 35 years. She was a member of
Trinity Baptist Church. Mrs. Warren is survived by a daughter, Ernestine
Tate of Henderson; a brother, Jim Winters of Madisonville; two sisters
Bess Whitmire of Nomangee and Ruby Osborne of Houston; and three
grandchildren. Pallbearers will be William Baughman, Nathaniel Hollier,
Mack Bassett, Buford Q. Lee, Jack Smith and Virgil Boyd.

Services for Lawrence Mills, 79, of Henderson will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Bryan Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. R.C. Coppedge officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Mr. Mills died at 5:10 p.m. sunday in Henderson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born May 16, 1908, in Rusk County, where he lived most of his life. He was a member od a Pentecostal church and was retired from the Marine Manufacturing Co. He was a member of DOF Lodge 28, Rebecca Lodge 159, and American Legion Post 95 and VFW Post 8535.
The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Mills of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Armstrong, E.D. Armstrong, George A. Armstrong, Glenn Armstrong, Rickey Armstrong, and Ear (Pete) Armstrong.

Bryan Funeral Home. Mr. Warren, age 84, died at 3:50 a.m. Sunday in the
Henderson Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on Feb.
3, 1903 in Rusk County where he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Warren was a
member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was retired from the New
London School District. The family will meet friends from 6pm to 8pm
Monday in the funeral home. His survivors include his wife Cora Lee
Warren of Henderson, his daughter and son-in-law Virginia Dare Smith and
Jack B. Smith of Mt. Prostist, IL; his son and daughter- in-law Billy
Charles Warren and Mrs. Billy Warren of Salt Lake City, UT; two sisters
Inez York and Rennie Ash both of Henderson; one brother Fonzo Warren of
Henderson; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers
will be Douglas York, Olen Pool, Doyle Gentry, Herman Dowden, and Joel
Horton. Note: Julius Stephen was the son of John Stephen Warren and his
wife Effie Eliza Gossett.

Services for Mrs. Inez Warren York of 305 Marshall in Henderson, will be held at 4pm Sunday in the Crawford-A. Crim Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.
Mrs. York, 77, died at 11:30 am. Friday in her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born Feb 20 1910 in Rusk County and was a lifetime resident of
Henderson and Rusk County.
Mrs. York was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and she was former employee of Warren Studio and Ray Pharmacy.
Mrs. York’s family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 7 to 8 pm Saturday. Mrs. York is survived by one brother, Fonzo Warren of Henderson; one sister, Mrs. Rennie Ash of Henderson; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for Mrs. York will be Wayne Jones, Kirk Bryan, Kyle Bryan, Harold Herndon, Jimmy Ash and Danny Bryan.
Note added: Inez Warren was one of 9 children (the youngest) born to John Stephen WARREN b. 17 July 1857 Heard Co GA d. 1942 and his wife Effie Eliza GOSSETT b. 29 June 1877 d. 12 May 1854. John Warren was the brother of Uriah G. Warren of Rusk County, TX.

Mrs. Gregory died at 8pm Sunday in
her residence after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Gregory was born Feb 11, 1918, in
Uniontown, Ark, and she was a resident of Henderson since 1975. Mrs. Gregory was
a member of the first Baptist Church in Henderson. She was a retired accountant
and Mrs. Gregory was a former member of the Business And Professional Womens
Association and the American Society of Women Accountants. Mrs. Gregory's family
will recieve friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7pm today.

McKnight, 76, of Laird Hill, mother of Troup and Whitehouse men were held
Friday, Feb. 3 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rusk County with the Rev. W. Nelson
Parrish officiating. Services were under direction of Pearson Funeral Home in
Overton. Mrs. McKnight died Wednesday in a Henderson hospital after a lengthy
illness. She was born Aug. 27, 1912, in Belton and lived in Laird Hill the past
16 years and in the East Texas area since 1931. She was a housewife.

Dickeson, 70, of Joinerville are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Crawford-
A. Crim Chapel with ministers Danny Cline and Leonard Jennings officiating.
Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Crawford-
A. Crim funeral Home.
Mrs. Dickeson died at 5:20 p.m.
Saturday at the Henderson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was
born Oct. 26, 1919 in Greenville and had lived in Rusk County since 1933. She
was a retired postmistress of Joinerville and served 19 years in the United
States Postal Service. She was a memebr of the South Main Church of Christ in
Henderson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.
Monday.
Survivors include her husband, Jim
Dickeson, Joinerville; two sons, Gary dickeson, Marshall, and Robert Lynn
Dickeson, Corsicana; two daughters, Jane Rockey, Henderson, and Ruby Jo Baker,
Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-
great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include the grandsons.

Services for Mr. A.R. 'Hap' Harris of Henderson, 60, are set for 10 am Tues at Crawford-A Crim Chapel with the Rev Bill Kuykendall officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Park Cem under the direction of Crawford-A Crim Funeral Home. Mr. Harris died at 1 am Sun at Henderson Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 17, 1931 in Haverhill, Mass. A Henderson resident since January, he attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a retired construction worker and served in the US Marines during the Korean conflict.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 this evening.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Harris of Henderson; two sons, Arnold R Harris Jr of Maryville, TN and William Harris of CA; five daughters, Diana Tacia of California, Elaine Chandler of SC, Frances Lumsden of NC, and Barbara Rexroad and Glenda Hand both of Henderson; three brothers Jim Harris and Sid Harris both of Mass, and Ernie Harris of FL; two sisters, Evelyn Howgh of OH and Barbara Lattin of Salem, N.H.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services for Mrs. Fannie Warren of Whitehouse, 93, are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Whitehouse with Minister Gerald Schuler officiating. Interment will be in the Stewart Communty Cemetery near Tatum. Mrs. Warren died Sunday morning at a Tyler hospital.
She was born Jan. 30 1898 in Tatum. She had been a Smith County resident since 1967. She was affiliated with Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a homemaker.
Memorials may be made to the building fund of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Whitehouse.
Survivors include: one son, Hermon D. Warren of Diana; two stepsons, Robert L. Warren of Del Rio and G.L. Warren of Henderson; one daughter, Lonnie Delena Haynes of Troup; two stepdaughters, Maurice Nelson of Henderson and Catherine Boyd of Orange; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers include Dwayne Dement, Stan Twedt, Ronnie Cochrane, Kevin Dupreez, Al Scherr and David Stanley.
Note: Fannie Warren was the 2nd wife of Lonnie Dee Warren. Lonnie had four children by his first marriage, and he and Fannie had two more. Fannie (Williamson) Warren was born 30 Jan 1898 in Stewart, Rusk Co. TX.

Services for Mrs. Carrie Mae
Hedge, 70, of 501 Woodlawn, a well known and
long-time school teacher and administrator here, will be held in the
First United Methodist Church with Rev. Woods, rector of St. Matthews
Episcopal church officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Park
Cemetery. Mrs. Hedge, a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church and
retired principal of Central Elementary School, died in Medical City
Hospital in Dallas at 8am friday following a brief illness. She had
resided in Henderson 46 years. She spent 35 years in school teaching and
administration and retired as principal of Central Elementary on June 1,
1974. She served as principal for 25 years. Mrs. Hedge was one of the
organizers of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Henderson and was a past
president of both the American Cancer Society and the local district of
the Texas State Teachers Assn. She was also a past president of the
Henderson Women's club and was a member of the American Society of
University Women. Survivors are her husband, W. Prentiss Hedge of
Henderson; two daughters, Mrs. Pat Skinner of Austin and Mrs. John
Blackwood of Plano; two brothers, Dr. Spencer Carruthers of Greenville
and William Carruthers of Wichita Falls, and three granddaughters,
Jennifer Elizabeth Blackwood of Plano and Elizabeth Ann and Rebecca
Sharon Skinner, both of Austin. Pallbearers will be Lewis Land, Ray Hall,
Landon Alford, Charles Richardson, Michael Kangerga and Richard Ogden.

Gregg, 31, of Overton are pending with Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home of Overton.
Mr. Gregg died late Thursday from injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born Feb. 9, 1962, in Overton and was a lifelong resident of New London,
graduating from West Rusk High School and attending Kilgore College. He was a
U.S. Navy Veteran and was employed by Pronto Food Store in Overton. He was a
member of New London Baptist Church. Mr. Gregg was preceded in death by his
father O. W. Gregg in 1975. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday at
the funeral home.

TX where other Warren relatives lived and married late in his life, Ida Leora (FREEMAN) (THOMPSON) b. 6 Oct 1906, a widow who had been married (3rd wife) to George Edward Thompson (b. 1 Dec 1881) in Rusk Co. TX who died 4 Dec 1952). Alvyl's father Uriah was the son of Sherrod 'Bullis' Warren, a brother to the Uriah George 'Duncan' Warren of Henderson. Sherrod 'Bullis' named one of his children after his brother. ‘Alvie’ Warren as he was known, married late in his life and only the once. Alvie had no children of his own with Ida Leora Thompson. In earlier years before his mariage he lived for a long time in Rusk Co TX with a couple he called ‘cousins’, Lee R Boyd and his wife Vicie. 'Vicie' was actually his aunt as she was Lavisie M. Warren, a sister to Uriah George Warren b 1877.

“Graveside services for A.F. ‘Fonzo’ Warren, 93, of
Goodsprings will be held 11 a.m. Wed at Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dave
Anderson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim
Funeral Home. Mr. Warren died July 10, 1995 at a local nursing home. He was born
Jan. 22, 1902 in Rusk County. He was a lifelong resident of Rusk County. He was
a member of the Grandview Baptist Church and a retired truck driver for Spunky
Oil Company. He was a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #23 AF&AM. Family will
receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8p.m. Mr. Warren was
preceded in death by his wife, Hortense Cooper Warren, and a son Leo Warren.
Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Kenneth Pollick,
Goodsprings; a sister, Rennie Ash, Ogden, Utah; five grandchildren, 11 great
grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Murphy, eldest grandson, will give eulogy and Brother Harold Davis will
officiate at graveside. Burial will follow in Stewart Cemetery under the
direction of Bryan Funeral Home. Mrs. Nelson died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Good
Shepherd Medical Center in Longview after a brief illness. She was born March
28, 1908 in Henderson and was a lifetime resident of Rusk County. She was a
member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Henderson and was retired owner of
Henderson Flower Shop. The family will receive friends from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
Wednesday at the funeral home. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law,
Ameryllus and Virgil Murphy, Henderson; three sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred
W. and Jean Nelson, Arlington, Billie Rhea and Thelma Nelson, of Lufkin, and Dr.
Robert N. and Marianne Nelson, Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters, Katherine
Boyd, Orange and Delena Haynes, Troup; three brothers, Langford Warren,

Graveside services for Robert Luther Warren, 85 of Del Rio were held 2 p.m.
Sunday April 14, 1996 at Westlawn Cemetery with T.J. Jarrett officiating. Burial
was under the direction of the G.W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home in Del Rio. Mr.
Warren died April 11, 1996 at Val Verde Memorial in Del Rio. He was born July 2,
1910 in Henderson. He is formerly of Warren Studio, first leased a photographic
studio from his uncle in Henderson, his home town. He learned his professional
from his father, a photographer who started his career in 1900. While Robert was
still in high school, he spent his summer vacations working on ships which
carried freight to and from Europe many times. After Robert and his late wife
Lucile purchased the Lippe Studio in Del Rio in 1941, he enlisted in the Air
Force in 1942 and served at Laughlin Air Force Base during World War II. Robert
represented the Del Rio Rotary Club at an international convention in Tokyo in
1978. He was a member of the Texas Aviation Association, the Amistad Navy Club,
Del Rio Flying Club, the Rotary Club and a member of the Christian Science
Church. Survivors include a sister Kathryn Boyd, Orange; a brother Langford
Warren of Henderson; a half-brother and sister Delena Haynes and Herman D Warren
of Troup; a niece, Ameryllus Murphy of Henderson; and numerous nieces and
nephews.

Graveside services for Langford ‘Lanky’ Warren, 82, of Pleasant Hill Community,
will be held 2 pm Saturday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Rev Harold Davis
officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of
Crawford A.-Crim Funeral Home. Mr. Warren died Nov 14, 1996 at his residence. He
was born March 3, 1914 in Henderson and was a lifelong resident of East Texas.
He was a Methodist and retied techer, coach and principal having served in the
Beaumont, Beckville, Union Grove, New London and West Rusk schools. After
retirement ‘Lanky’ spent many hours farming, caring for his catfish pond and
loving his family. He received his Masters Degree from Stephen F. Austin
University. He was a 32nd Mason and Member of the Beckville Masonic Lodge 922
AF&AM. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years. Family will receive
friends at the funeral home from 6pm-8pm tonight. Survivors include his wife
Mildred Warren, Pleasant Hill Community; a son and daughter-in-law Jack and Dink
Warren of Houston; a daughter Judy Warren, Pleasant Hill Community, a half
brother Herman Warren of Gilmer; a sister Cathryn Boyd of Orange; a half sister
Delena Haynes of Troup, a grandson Keith Warren of Houston; a great grandson
Micah Walker of Houston, TX.

Henderson. Mrs. Gregg died Sept. 12, in a Tyler hospital. She was born March 2,
1914, in Marshall and lived in Rusk County for 67 years. She was a homemaker and
a member of Church Of Christ. Survivors include her husband Clyde Hugh Gregg of
Joinerville.

on Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Landmark Nursing Home in Hammond, LA, after a
lengthy illness. She was born Nov 14, 1902 in Nacogdoches. She was a member of
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in the Pleasant Hill community. Survivors include
her daughter, Virginia Smith, Hammond LA; a son and daughter-in-law Billy and
Drue Warren, San Angelo; a sister-in-law Mable Woodham, Nacogdoches; five
grandsons and nine great grandchildren.

12 noon, Saturday, May 22, 1999 at Rusk County Memorial Gardens with the Rev.
Jere Wilson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of the Crawford-
A. Crim Funeral Home. Mrs. Ash died Saturday, May 8, 1999 at Rocky Mountain Care
Center in Clearfield, Utah, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Mrs.
Ash was born April 21, 1907 in Overton, to John Stephen and Effie Eliza Gossett
Warren. On Sept 2, 1932 Rennie married Charles Richard Ash in Overton. Charles
preceded her in death following 49 years of marriage. She lived in Beaumont for
40 years, Henderson for 5 years, and had lived in the Layton, UT area for the
past 11 years. She lived most recently at the Apple Tree Retirement Ctr. She
made afghan quilts for each grandchild and great-grandchild. She loved to fish
and was one of the best ‘flounder fisherman’ on the gulf coast while she and
Charley lived in Beaumont. Mr. and Mrs. Ash were both devoted to the Southern
Baptist faith, and she was a member of the South Park Baptist Church in Beaumont
and the First Baptist Church in Henderson. She was a member of the Layton Hills
Baptist Church in Layton and had many friends there. She was preceded in death
by her husband, parents, three brothers, and five sisters. Survivors include her
son Jimmie Charles Ash and his wife Carol Ann, Ogden, UT; three grandchildren
Mark Ash and his wife Carol Ann of Salt Lake City; Michele Quin of Houston,
Alison Sunderland and her husband Jerry of Riverdale, five great grandchildren.

VAULTA B ARMSTRONG
Services for Vaulta Armstrong,
61, Henderson, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Crawford-Crim-Bryan
Funeral Home, Henderson, with the Rev. Lester Foreman officiating.
Burial will be in Maple
Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Armstrong died Nov.
27 at her residence.
She was born June 9, 1943,
in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband,
George Armstrong, Henderson; sons, Glen Armstrong and Alan Armstrong, both of
Henderson, George Armstrong Jr., Dallas, David Armstrong, Santa Fe, and Scott
Armstrong, Hitchcock; daughters, Sandra Mullens, Armstrong, Okla., and Gina Gale
Heffernan, Henderson; brother, Harold Gardner, Festus, Mo.; sister, Norma Jean
Cochran, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She
also leaves her dog, Hanna; pig, Tia; and bird, Barney.
Pallbearers are Dave Scoby, Bobby
Armstrong, Jack Heffernan, Gary Sewell, Steven Thompson and Leo Armstrong.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m.
Monday at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Clyde H. Gregg,
96, of Joinerville will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, March 11, 2005, with Paul
Witt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of
Crawford Crim Bryan Funeral Home in Henderson.
Mr. Gregg died March 8, 2005, in
Henderson. He was born Jan. 27, 1909, in Dawson County, Oklahoma, and was a
member of the Church of Christ. He was a retired plant operator for Arco. Family
will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his
wife of 43 years, Ruth Gregg in 1998; infant daughter, Cartha Lea; brothers and
sisters, Toney Gregg, Clarence Gregg, Russell Gregg, Cora McGuire, Don Gregg,
Edith Jones, and Margie Cummings.

Henderson Sr., 91, of Henderson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept 15, 2006, at
Crawford-Crim-Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Sceroler and Rev. John
Wahl officiating. Burial will be in Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the
direction of Crawford-Crim-Bryan Funeral Home in Henderson.
Mr Henderson died Sept 12, 2006 in
Tyler. He was born March 22, 1915, in Waxahachie, was a member of the Eastside
Baptist Church and had been a meter repairman.
Family will receive friends from
6-8p.m. Thusday, Sept 14, 2006 at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by; his
parents, Jewell Jones Henderson and Dovie Jackson Henderson; five brothers and
two sisters.
Survivors include: three sons,
Willard Henderson Jr. of Henderson, Gene Henderson & wife, Doris, of Highlands,
Texas and Willie Henderson of Pearland, Texas; daughter, Irene Yarborough &
husband, Curtis Yarborough of Henderson and x-wife Irene Henderson of
Henderson; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great
grandchildren. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

BUFORD FIELDS Born on March 10, 1915 in
Overton, Texas and passed away, after a
brief illness, on April 28, 2007 in Lakeview Terrace, California at the age of
92. He was a member of Pacoima Sportsmans Club, Masonic Lodge and an avid
racehorse fan. He is survived by his daughters, Winnie Strauder Lee of Los
Angeles, Minnie Solomon of Palmdale, Janet Holmes of Palmdale, Lynda Parks of
Phoeniz; sons, Buford Carter Fields of Los Angeles, Jimmy Young of Carson;
grandchildren, Cheryl Hughes of Inglewood, Dereck Holmes of Palmdale, Chapawnee
Vickers of Palmdale, Shonee Solomon of Palmdale, Jason Young of Carson, Milko
Holmes of Long Beach and a host of great grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Minnie Fields. He will forever be missed by family and friends
