Funeral Services for Ruben Armstrong, 73,
of 1111 West Main Street will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Crawford-A. Crim
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Adams officiating.
Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Armstrong died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday at
Henderson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Arkansas, he had lived in Rusk
County for the past 55 years. A member of the Baptist Church, he was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Neeley
Armstrong of Henderson; five sons, Robert L. and Elzie D. Armstrong, both of
Henderson, Harold P., George A., and Pete Armstrong, all of Houston; two daughters,
Mrs. Nettie Mae Green of Houston and Mrs. Irene Armstrong of Henderson; four
brothers, Lawrence Armstong of Laneville, Johnny Armstrong of Wright City, Buddy
Armstrong of Henderson and Oscar Cook of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Davis
and Mrs. Bird Watkins, both of Dallas, and Mrs. Margie Rexrode of Laneville; 26
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Services for Walter D. Gresham 66, of
Mount Enterprise will be held at Landmark Baptist Church in Mount Enterprise
Sunday at 2pm with Rev. J.R. Alexander and Rev. B.C. Hill officating. Gresham,
a member of the Baptist Church died at his home Saturday at 5am. He was born in
Sacul, June 11, 1905.

of Route5, Henderson, a retired farmer
and member of the Blossom Hill Methodist church, will be held in the
chapel of Bryan-Cothron Funeral Home here Thursday at 4 p.m. with Rev.
J.C Parker officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Warren
died in a Rusk Co. hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Rusk
Co. Nov. 21, 1903 and was a lifelong member of the community. Survivors
are his widow Thelma Warren, and one daughter, Miss Kay Warren , both of
Henderson; and two sisters, Mrs. May McCune and Mrs. Bertha Dickinson,
both of Center. Pallbearers will be Leo Propes, Raymond Propes, Buford
Gossett, Alvin Warren, Bill Dickinson and Eugene Dickinson."

Services for Mrs. Estelle Hudgins Mills, 85, of Rt. 1, Mount Enterprise, will be held in the chapel of Bryan Funeral Home here Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Henry Matlock officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mrs. Mills died at her residence at 7 p.m. Thursday after a sudden illness.
She was born September 16, 1889, in Alabama and had resided in Rusk County most of her life.
Survivors are two brothers, Lonnie B. Hudgins, Sr. of Mount Enterprise and J. D. Hudgins of Houston; and two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Hunter of Henderson and Mrs. Virgie Crow of Houston.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie B. Hudgins, Jr., Norris Hudgins, C. L. Sprayberry, James Sprayberry, James Sprayberry and Jimmy Snelson.

Gregg, 48, of New London are pending at Pearson Funeral Home in Overton. Gregg,
owner and operator of Gregg Upholstery Shop in New London, was pronounced dead
on arrival at Overton Memorial Hospital Tuesday at 8:30am after suffering an
apparent heart attack. He was a native of Oklahoma and had been a resident of
New London for the past 16 years.

Services were held yesterday for Lawrence Armstrong, 76, Route 1, Laneville at the Bryan Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. A. D. Munsinger officiated with burial in the Laneville Cemetery.
Armstrong, who lived in the Laneville area most of his life, died Tuesday at his home of a sudden illness.
He was born in Arkansas and was a retired carpenter and painter.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Armstrong; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Randles of Kansas, and Mrs. Bonnie Flanagan, Mt. Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie H. Boyd, 71 of the Jacobs Community, Rt. 2 Overton, will be held at 3:30 pm Thursday at the Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Waltman officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Boyd died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday (18 July 1978) at Henderson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born June 2, 1907 in Georgia and had been a resident of Rusk County for 37 years. Mrs. Boyd was also a member of the Pirtle Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Henry Boyd of Overton and one sister Mrs. Lonie Garner of Whitesburd, Georgia.
Pallbearers will be Sam Bass, Bartley Bass, Virgil Boyd, Joe Horton, J.C Warren and Roy Skaggs.

resident of Rusk County, will be held at the First United Methodist
Church here Wednesday at 10 am with the Rev A. Wayne Jones and Dr. A.D.
Lemons officiating. Interment will be in New Prospect Cemetery under the
direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Mrs. Hedge, a member of the
First United Methodist Church and the Gains-Goems Sunday School class
here, died in Henderson Memorial Hospital at 9:45 pm Monday after a
lengthy illness. She was born May 21, 1891 in the Oakland Community of
Rusk County and had been a Henderson resident since 1931. Mrs. Hedge held
a life membership in the United Methodist Women and was a volunteer
worker at Henderson Memorial Hospital through the Gray Ladies Unit of the
Red Cross. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to
8 pm Tuesday. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the
funeral. She is survived by several step-children, including: W. Prentiss
Hedge, Mrs. Ellen H. Sammons, Mrs. Roger (Myrtle) Hale, Mrs. Kathryn H.
Sneed and Johnny Hedge all of Henderson; Raymond H. Hedge of Tyler, Mrs.
Sally H. Gary of Beaumont, Mrs. Melvin (Betty) Wilson of Shreveport, LA,
and Cully H. Hedge of Houston. Pallbearers will be Charlie Shaw, Ted
Nelson, Gordon Brown, George Warren, Dr. Hugh M. Phillips and Marcus

Warren, a retired chief master
sergeant with 27 years of service in the U. S. Air Force, died in Houston's
Herman Hospital at 6:55 p.m. Thursday following a brief illness.
Full military services will be
conducted at the graveside by an honor guard from Barksdale Air Force Base in
Bossier City, La.
Warren was born in Rusk County March 16, 1919.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Mamie
Warren of Henderson; two sons, Bill Warren of Houston and David Kester of Rio
Vista, Johnson County; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Kendricks of Grandview; two
brtohers, Floyd and J. C. Warren, both of Henderson; two sisters, Mrs. Marie
Warren Hall of Henderson and Mrs. Lela Katherine Alexander of Overton, and
eight grand-children.

resident of Rusk County. She was the widow of Ruben Armstrong and was a member
of the Methodist Church.

Mrs. Grisham died at 12:30pm Saturday in the Henderson Memorial Hosptial after a
brief illness. She was born Dec 23, 1908, in Brookhaven, Miss. She lived in Rusk
County for 53 years and attended the Calvery Baptist Church. She was the widow
of Monroe S. Grisham.

her life. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church. Survivors include
her husband A.F. Warren of Henderson; one daughter Mrs.(Joyce) Kenneth
Pollick of Henderson; two brothers J.B. Cooper and (Lem) Earvel Cooper,
both of Longview; two sisters, Mrs. (Flonnie L.) Virgil Harrington and
Mrs. (Ellen C.)Nathaniel A. Hollier, both of Henderson; five

after a lengthy illness. Born March 3, 1897, Mrs. york was a lifelong
resident of Rusk County. She was a housewife and a Baptist. Survivors
are her three daughters, Mrs. Mary Hightower, Mrs. Christeen Stowe
and Mrs. Wilma Broome, all of Tatum; two sisters, Mrs. Cecil Thompson
of Troup and Mrs. Jane Jones of Tatum; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-
grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be

Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. York died Tuesday. She was born Oct 28,
1918 in Panola County and was a lifetime resident of Tatum. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church in Tatum. Survivors include her
husband, George; son, George E. York of Tatum; daughters, Lillia Hise
and Joyce Daniels, both of Tatum; sisters, Ola Bell Prior of
Henderson, Bertha Montgomery of Longview and Mildred Farnsworth of
Longview; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Warren died at 5:05 a.m. Friday
at the University of Texas Health Center in Tyler after a lengthy illness. He
was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Smackover Township, Ark., He lived most of his life
in Rusk County and Jacob's Community.
He was a retired officer of the
Kilgore Polive Department, where he served for 16 years. Prior to his service
with the police department, Mr. Warren spent 16 years with Hill Brothers Oil
Company.
Mr. Warren was a member of the Rocky
Mountain Masonic Lodge No. 63 of Overton and he flew 58 missions with the Army
Air Corp during World War II.
Mr. Warren is survived by his wife
Inez Martin Warren of Jacob's Community; his mother, Mami Warren of Henderson;
two daughters, Sandy Warren of Jacob's Community and Susan Warren of Houston;
one brother, Floyd Warren of Henderson; and two sisters, Marie Hall of
Henderson and Kate Alexander of New London.

Mr. Warren died at 5:05 a.m. Friday
in the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler after a lengthy illness.
He was born on Nov. 3, 1923 in
Smackover Township, Ark., and was a resident of Jacob's Community.
He retired July 1985 from the Kilgore
Police Department after 16 years of service. He was also a truck driver for 16
years for Hill Brothers Oil Company. He was a member of Rocky Mt. Masonic Lodge
No. 63 in Overton.
Mr. Warren flew 58 missions with the
Army Air Corp. in World War II, and received the Air Medal and Purple Heart
awards.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Inez
Martin Warren of Jacob's Community; mother, Mrs. Mami Warren of Henderson; two
daughters, Sandy Warren of Jacob's Community and Susan Warren of Houston;
brother Floyd Warren of Henderson; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Hall of Henderson
and Mrs. Kate Alexander of New London.
Members of Kilgore Police Department

Graveside services for Emmett Armstrong,
60, of Palacious, Texas, and formerly of Laneville will be held at 4 p.m.
Friday at Laneville Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Mr. Armstrong died Tuesday in his
residence in Palacious.
He was employed by Monsanto Chemical
Co. in Texas City. Mr. Armstrong was a Baptist.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs.
Mary Armstrong of Laneville; a daughter, Mrs. Rena Jean Bryce of Lake Livingston;
two sons, Bobby Joe Armstrong and Larry Armstrong, both of Texas City; two
sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Flanagan of Mount Enterprise and Mrs. Dorothy Randles of
Hutchinson, Kan,; four brothers, Charlie Armstrong of Laneville, Cecil Armstrong
of Lake Cherokee, Billy Joe Armstrong of Texas City and Loyd Armstrong of New
London; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services for George Elwin 'Buddy' York, 52, of Tatum were
held Wed in Colonial chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home with Pastor
Morris Ivey and Pastor Mike Buie officiating. Burial was in Tatum
Cemetery. Mr. York died Monday in Holiday Lodge Nursing Center in
Longview after several months illness. Born Dec 23, 1933 in Rusk
County, he was the son of George William York and Donye M. Morton
York, both deceased. He attended Tatum public schools and was
employed at the city of Tatum water department. He was previously a
repairman for the Tatum Telephone Company. Mr. York was a member of
the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Alexander York of Tatum; one son,
George E. 'Bubba' York Jr. of Tatum; four daughters, Mrs. Edward
(Linda) Vaughn of Morris, OK, Mrs. Dale (Yvonne) Turlington and
Stephanie York both of Tatum and Charlsie Gaspar of Longview; seven
grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Allan (Lillia) Hise and Mrs. Douglas
(Joyce) Daniels, both of Tatum; several nieces and nephews; and
several great-nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jack Young,
Rayford Gibson, Murray adams, Johnny Hill, Johnny Gray and Wayne
Fulgham.

Services for Mrs. Mamie (Brewer)
Warren 90, of Henderson, will be held at
10 a.m. Wednesday in the Crawford-Crim Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Tom Wood officiating. Burial will be in Pirtle Baptist Cemetery. The
family will receive friends from 6p.m. to 7p.m today at the funeral
home. Mrs. Warren died at 10 p.m. Monday in Henderson Memorial Hospital
after a lengthy illness. She was born July 15, 1896 in Rusk County and
lived in Henderson for 15 years. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. She
is survived by one son Floyd Warren of Henderson; two daughters Mrs.
Kate Alexander of New London and Mrs. Marie Hall of Henderson; one
sister, Mrs. Mary Sims of Houston; 13 grandchildren and several great and
great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Scooter Phillips, Robert
Hall, Johnny Hall, Ted Littlefield, Todd Littlefield and Paul Fountain.
Note: Mamie (Brewer) Warren was the wife of William 'Arthur' Warren b.
1888, a son of Uriah G. Warren of Henderson.
