Welcome to Rusk County TXGenWeb!

I am your hostess and I invite you to browse these pages in search of answers to your questions. Although I offer this information, please be aware that I do not guarantee its validity. My name is Gina Heffernan and I am a new-comer to Rusk County but my family has lived here for about one hundred twenty-five years. My children's 4th great grandmother is buried near Henderson and my husband has distant cousins near Troup. My ties to this place are very strong and very real.

There are several places throughout this site to submit your information to be included. If I should leave this position as coordinator, your information will remain as part of this library for my successor.

This site actually incorporates parts of three sites. This page is part of TXGenWeb, which is affiliated with USGenWeb. In an effort to collect information and store it permanently in one place, we have created the USGenWeb Archives. In addition, we are now storing pictures at the Texas Tombstone Project. I have links to the two sister sites and you can search those sites from one central search page.

We need volunteers!

If you have information that can be posted to this site or if you would like to learn to transcribe records, please drop me a note. We accept any historical or genealogical information pertaining to Rusk County. We are always in need of volunteers for various projects.
